Course Description

This course is designed to offer orthopaedic surgeons in practice, residents and fellows instruction in primary, revision and extensile surgical approaches for the hip and knee joints. This course will facilitate the development and improvement of surgical skills for these commonly operated joints with lectures and hands-on cadaver surgery mentored by experienced arthroplasty and trauma surgeons.

Objectives

By the end of this course surgeons should develop competency in surgical approaches to the hip and knee for primary and revision arthroplasty and orthopaedic trauma cases. Standard arthrotomy (including posterior, lateral and anterior exposures), MIS and extensile techniques for complex surgery will be emphasized.

Target Audience

Orthopaedic surgeons, fellows, residents, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, physical & occupational therapists, industry professionals and any other healthcare professionals whose scope of practice includes hip and knee surgery.
