Course Description
Atlanta Trauma Symposium is a course designed for community general orthopaedic surgeons and doctors of podiatric medicine to enhance surgeon competency and provide strategies for fracture management. A distinguished faculty will present the latest concepts and techniques in orthopaedic trauma using didactic lectures, case presentations, and hands-on workshops.
Objectives
By the end of this activity, surgeons should be able to:
- Know the most current techniques in fracture care
- Understand the updated indications for fracture treatment selection
- Recognize the complexity of fractures so as to make the best referral decisions
- Hear opinions and have strategies to analyze how healthcare reform may impact physician practice in orthopaedic trauma
- Understand different treatment options based on expert opinion and debate
Target
Course content targets community orthopedists, doctors of podiatric medicine and mid-level providers whose scope of practice includes fracture repair.
Accreditation
Physician: Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education is accredited by the ACCME to provide Continuing Medical Education for physicians.
FORE designates this live activity for a maximum of 15.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Nursing Credit: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.
Physician Assistants: The American Academy of Physicians Assistants (AAPA) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTMfrom organizations accredited by the ACCME.
Athletic Trainers: FORE is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for Certified Athletic Trainers. This program has been approved for a maximum of (15.5) hours of Category A continuing education. Certified Athletic Trainers are responsible for claiming only those hours actually spent participating in the continuing education activity. BOC Approved Provider Number: P3115
