Course Description
This is a two and a half day course, designed to provide the orthopaedic surgeon with a comprehensive update on the surgical treatment of various shoulder and elbow problems including arthroscopy, arthroplasty, fracture management, rotator cuff tears and instability. The course format is a mix lectures, hands on workshops and engaging panel discussions. A distinguished faculty, will present their experience and techniques, discuss current implant devices as well as offer pearls of wisdom. Ample question and answer sessions will be provided to discuss individual cases as well as for participants to directly interact with the leading practitioners in this field.

Target Audience
Orthopaedic surgeons, fellows, residents, physician assistants, physical therapists, surgical assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, industry professionals and other healthcare professionals whose scope of practice includes shoulder and elbow surgery.
Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Assess rotator cuff repair surgery;
- Discuss design rationale of shoulder Arthroplasty;
- Interpret surgical approaches to arthroplasty of the shoulder and elbow;
- Analyze the biomechanical rationale of the reverse prosthesis;
- Review shoulder instability in the overhand athlete, bone loss and a new knotless anchor;
- Evaluate existing therapies and develop new approaches in relieving pain and improving function;
- Apply innovative methods of assessment and management of various shoulder and elbow problems.
Accreditation
Physicians: Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education is accredited by the ACCME to provide Continuing Medical Education for physicians. Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of 21.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Physician Assistants: The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ from organizations accredited by the ACCME.
Nursing: For the purpose of recertification, the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ issued by organizations accredited by the ACCME.
Physical Therapists: The Florida Physical Therapy Association Accreditation - The course and application do meet the standards set forth in Chapter 64B17-9, Florida for 25.5 continuing education hours. Accreditation of this course does not necessarily imply the FPTA supports the views of the presenter or the sponsors.
Athletic Trainers: Foundation for Orthopaedic Research and Education is recognized by the Board of Certification, Inc. to offer continuing education for certified athletic trainers. This program has been approved for 21.5 hours of category A continuing education. Certified athletic trainers are responsible for claiming only those hours spent participating in the CE activity.
